Most of what's worth seeing sits between the islands: sandbars at low tide, reef edges, and water too shallow for anything but a dhoni.

Four ways to spend your time here

We plan around the tide tables and the forecast, then leave the rest of the day to you.

74% of our guests have stayed with us more than once.

People tend to come back for the same villa, the same host and the same table at sunset.

Your host messages you before you fly, so you land knowing what to pack, who meets you and when the seaplane leaves.

Pack light. We'll handle the rest.

Hi Maya, it's Aishath, your host. Your seaplane leaves Malé at 10:15 tomorrow.

Great. Anything we'll regret not packing?

A rash vest for snorkelling. Masks, fins and towels are already in your villa.

Could we do the sandbank dinner on Thursday?

Done. The boat leaves your jetty at 5:40, and sunset is at 6:12.

The things first-time guests ask us most, answered before you zip the bag.

  • Rash vest and mineral sunscreen for the water.
  • One soft bag of up to 20 kg; seaplanes are strict.
  • Your host meets you at arrivals in Malé.

“Meridian began when a guest asked where I would go on my own day off. I took her there. We still choose every island that way.”

The people who meet you at the jetty

Our hosts grew up on these atolls. They know which reef is calm after rain, who catches the best tuna, and when to leave you alone.

Practical answers on getting here, what's included and changing your plans.

Something else on your mind?

Message us and a host will answer, usually the same day.

How do I get from the airport to my island?

Your host meets you in the arrivals hall at Malé and walks you to the seaplane or speedboat. Seaplanes fly in daylight only, so if you land after about 3:30 pm we book you a night near the airport first.

When is the best time of year to come?

December to April is driest and calmest. May to November brings more rain and wind, along with lower prices and the manta ray season. Our journal has a month-by-month guide.

Can you cater for allergies and dietary needs?

Yes. Tell us when you enquire and your host will plan the menus with the cook before you arrive. Vegetarian, vegan, halal and gluten-free are all routine.

Is there Wi-Fi and phone signal?

Every villa has Wi-Fi that is good enough for calls and streaming. Mobile signal is reliable on the islands and patchy on the boats between them.

What if I need to cancel or move my dates?

You can cancel free of charge up to 30 days before arrival, and move your dates once at no cost up to 14 days before. The full terms are on our Terms of Service page.

Tell us when you'd like to come

Send your dates and party size, and we'll reply with the islands that are free.
