Reef & Turtle Voyage

A sea turtle swimming in deep blue water above a coral reef

Overview

We go early, before the wind picks up and other boats arrive. The first two stops are coral gardens in three to five metres of water. The last is a seagrass bay where green turtles graze most mornings. Your guide swims with the group and tows a float for anyone who wants a rest.

Your Morning

  1. 06:45 — Meet at the Marine Centre pier for masks and fins
  2. 07:15 — Boat out to the first coral garden
  3. 08:30 — Second stop on the channel side, for bigger fish
  4. 09:30 — Fruit, pastries and tea on deck
  5. 10:00 — Seagrass bay, floating above the turtles
  6. 11:15 — Back at the pier

What Sets It Apart

One Host Throughout

The same person meets you, plans with you and sees you off.

Timed by the Tide

We set departures by the tide table and the forecast, not a fixed timetable.

Only Your Party

No shared boats, and no strangers at the next table.

Good to Know

You should be able to swim 50 metres unaided; life vests and floats are on board. Turtles are wild, and we see them on most trips but not all. Please use mineral sunscreen only. We keep some on the boat.

FAQ

How do I get from the airport to my island?

Your host meets you in the arrivals hall at Malé and walks you to the seaplane or speedboat. Seaplanes fly in daylight only, so if you land after about 3:30 pm we book you a night near the airport first.

When is the best time of year to come?

December to April is driest and calmest. May to November brings more rain and wind, along with lower prices and the manta ray season. Our journal has a month-by-month guide.

Can you cater for allergies and dietary needs?

Yes. Tell us when you enquire and your host will plan the menus with the cook before you arrive. Vegetarian, vegan, halal and gluten-free are all routine.

Is there Wi-Fi and phone signal?

Every villa has Wi-Fi that is good enough for calls and streaming. Mobile signal is reliable on the islands and patchy on the boats between them.

What if I need to cancel or move my dates?

You can cancel free of charge up to 30 days before arrival, and move your dates once at no cost up to 14 days before. The full terms are on our Terms of Service page.

Tell us when you'd like to come

Send your dates and party size, and we'll reply with the islands that are free.
